Dr. Stephen F. Laga is a board-certified Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon whose career exemplifies excellence in medical practice and continuous professional growth. His journey began with a BS in Physics from Adelphi University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1975, followed by his MD from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1979.
His comprehensive training includes an internship at St. Louis University Group Hospitals, residency in General Surgery at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center, and specialized training in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He also holds a Master's in Surgery from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Dr. Laga served as a Major in the USAF Medical Corps from 1985 to 1988, earning distinctions including the Outstanding Unit Award. His civilian career has included positions at prestigious institutions across the United States, from Illinois Masonic Hospital to his current practice at Froedtert South in Kenosha, WI.
As an active member of the American Medical Association, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and American College of Surgeons, Dr. Laga remains at the forefront of surgical innovation and patient care.
